REVOLUTIONARY INDIA TURNING MAJOR
A revolution called liberalization started in 1991. We will be completing 18yrs in 2009. Teenage yrs are the most important yrs as they form the base for the future education-wise, culture wise and character-wise. Just like in the life of a child growing in to the teens India too had its faltering moments but always recovered back ready to come out of its teens as a major player set to conquer the world with its free market democracy, horde of intellectuals turned entrepreneurs and a very strong and committed work force.
IT HAPPENED FIRST IN INDIA
We have all heard the song ‘It happens only in India’. How many of us know that it all happened first in India…..
Let us not forget the British rule, India was the richest country in the world. It is said that Columbus actually started his voyage to discover India because it was the richest country and accidently discovered America. The list is endless. A few facts are listed below which show why India is the greatest of all countries,
*The ‘Place value system’ and the ‘Decimal system’ were developed in India in 100BC
*The world’s first university was established in Takshila in 700BC. More than 10,500 students from all over the world

*Bhaskaracharya rightly calculated the time taken by the Earth to orbit the Sun hundred of yrs ago. According to his calculation, the time taken by the Earth was 365.258756484 days.
*The value of “pi” was first calculated by the Indian mathematician Budhayana and he explained the concept of what is known as the ‘Pythagorean theorem’.
*Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus also originated in India. Quadratic Equations were used by Sridharacharya in the 11th century. The largest numbers the Greeks and the Romans used were 106 whereas Hindus used numbers as big as 10^53 with specific names as early as 5000BC during the Vedic period. Even today the largest used number is Terra: 10^12.

GDP GROWTH
Growth of a country or even the world is measured in terms of Gross Domestic Product(GDP).The growth in 2008 and projections for the future is bleak with negative or marginal growth for developed countries whereas India is still expected to grow by 5+% even by the most conservative estimates given so far.
MARKET & THE ECONOMY
Stock markets are known as an Economy’s Barometer. The greatest mistake an investor can do is to take a short sighted view of Indian Economy and Market.”To see is to Believe”, one look at the Sensex chart will be enough to convince the need for long term view and strategies.
